Description:
1898 Barber Dime, PR67
Marvelously Toned
1898 10C PR67 NGC. This superlative type coin offers great merits on its own as a PR67. But when one looks closely beneath the rich rose and cobalt-blue toningcovering each side, it is apparent that a significant amount of mint frost is present on the devices -- enough, most likely, to warrant a Cameo designation if this coin were untoned. But it is marvelously toned, and devoid of any noticeable contact marks on either side. The deep mirrors flash strongly through the thick patina. Census: 26 in 67, 6 finer (3/13).
Ex: Summer FUN Signature (Heritage, 7/2010), lot 3513.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 23GB, PCGS# 4882)
