1902 25C PR66+ PCGS. CAC....
1902 Quarter, PR66+1902 25C PR66+ PCGS. CAC. Ex: Larry Shapiro. What distinguishes this quarter is not the low mintage or the high grade or even the Plus designation. What really sets this piece apart is the pronounced, yet unacknowledged cameo contrast on each side. This is quite extraordinary since the Mint began in 1902 to polish the devices as well as the fields of proofs, thus reducing the cameo effect from previous years. While appearing brilliant at first glance, the surfaces have just the slightest tinge of rose on each side. Population: 13 in 66 (1 in 66+), 5 finer (3/13).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 242H, PCGS# 5688)
