PR64 Brown 1852 Half Cent, B-21852 1/2 C Restrike, Small Berries PR64 Brown PCGS. B-2, R.5. The Philadelphia Mint did not produce business strike Half Cents in 1852, and no original proofs have been located. This example, a First Restrike, is richly toned in copper-gray shades through which warm antique-gold undertones shine at direct angles. The surfaces also reveal pleasing brightness as the coin turns under the light, but we can find no singularly mentionable blemishes, and the strike is razor sharp throughout. An attractively original near-Gem. (NGC ID# 26ZT, PCGS# 1317)
