Description

1834 C-1, B-1 Half Cent
PR64 Red and Brown
Undoubted Proof Strike

1834 1/2 C PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. C-1, B-1, R.6 as a Proof. Breen Die State I. This is an unquestioned proof strike from the early die state before any clash marks appear on the obverse or reverse. All of the minute die finishing lines are present on this example. Housed in a green-label PCGS holder, this beautiful half cent exhibits about 30% of its original orange mint color on the obverse, with nearly full, faded mint color on the reverse. A single small scratch in the left obverse field appears to retain orange mint color within, suggesting that it may have been a scratch on the planchet before this piece was minted. A remarkable specimen. Our EAC grade PR62.(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 223A, PCGS# 1202)
