1856 1C PR10 PCGS. CAC. Snow-3....
1856 Flying Eagle Cent, PR101856 1C PR10 PCGS. CAC. Snow-3. A circulated chestnut-brown representative of this famous and important introductory cent issue. Protected areas display darker toning typical of natural lengthy circulation. All legends are bold except for the A in STATES and the O in OF, which are faint but readable. Free from marks or spots. Snow-3 is associated with business strikes made in 1856 as samples for Washington officials. Since the office holders were non-collectors, many of the cents were spent despite their rising numismatic premium, especially once the Flying Eagle type became commonplace in commerce.(Registry values: N1) (NGC ID# 227A, PCGS# 2037)
