Description:
Rare Judd-1636 1879 Flowing Hair Stella
1879 $4 Flowing Hair Four Dollar, Judd-1636 Gilt, Pollock-1834, Low R.7, (PR63 Corroded) PCGS. Certified by PCGS as genuine but without an assigned grade. Struck in copper with a reeded edge as a proof, no wear is evident, although the fields are minutely granular in selected areas. This desirable pattern is well struck and has lovely lemon-gold, cream-gray, and russet colors. From the same dies as the famous gold Judd-1635 1879 Flowing Hair Stella, and many times scarcer with a copper composition. The key to a denomination set of U.S. gold, the Stella is on the want list of hundreds of advanced U.S. collectors.(#82015) (PCGS# 82015)
