1882 PR62 Gold Dollar1882 G$1 PR62 Cameo PCGS. Even though 125 proofs were minted of the 1882, surprisingly few are known today. Probably no more than two dozen separate examples are extant in all grades. This piece shows the clear 2 that is seen on all proofs of this date, and a slight orange peel texture is most noticeable around the periphery on the reverse. A number of small contact marks are seen on each side, which give the coin its PR62 grade, the most notable of which is a circular lint mark around the second S in STATES. The devices are noticeably contrasted against the deeply reflective fields.(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 25ES, PCGS# 87632)
