1873 1C Closed 3 PR66 Red, Cameo PCGS. Eagle Eye Photo Seal....
Captivating PR66 Red, Cameo 1873 Indian Cent With an Eagle Eye Photo Seal from Rick Snow1873 1C Closed 3 PR66 Red, Cameo PCGS. Eagle Eye Photo Seal. Closed 3, as are all proof Cents of this date. This is a late die state with the first feather in Liberty's headdress detached due to overpolishing. This overzealous activity by a Mint employee has had no effect on the overall striking quality of this attractive specimen. All features with the exception of the aforementioned feather are fully brought up, and the fields glow with pleasingly mirrored reflectivity. Distraction-free save for a few faint swirls over the upper obverse, the mint luster is complete in orange-red and cherry-red hues. The proof 1873 Closed 3 is one of several issues in the Indian Cent series with added date pressure due to the general unavailability of high grade business strikes. Population: 1 in 66 Red as Cameo, there are none finer (1/03). (PCGS# 82308)
