1908 $10 Motto PR65 NGC....
It is always a treat for this cataloger to examine the surfaces of a matte proof survivor such as this one, which has obviously been carefully preserved for nearly a full century. Struck with unmistakable proof sharpness, this Gem exhibits the fine grain surface textures which, surprisingly, were not liked by most contemporary numismatists. The color is a light khaki-peach shade which is imbued with reddish overtones. The surfaces are virtually flawless--leading one to wonder whether the piece may even be conservatively graded at this level. Census: 11 in 65, 28 finer (6/07). (Registry values: N7079) (NGC ID# 268E, PCGS# 8890)
