Description:
Cameo PR 64 1891 Double Eagle
1891 PR 64 NGC. Superb cameo contrast with rich reddish-orange toning and a full strike. There are a few minor hairlines on both obverse and reverse, but no more than one might expect. The 1891 double eagle is very rare in all grades with only 1,442 circulation strikes and 52 proofs. Of the 52 proofs, only 24 have been certified by NGC and PCGS, and, of those, only 11 have been certified PR 64 and higher. Population: 1 in 64, 3 finer (1/99). (NGC ID# 26EC, PCGS# 9107)
