1907 $10 LIBERTY
Watery Proof 1907 Liberty Ten-Dollar1907 PR 62 PCGS. A scarce final year proof issue, one of just 74 pieces struck for collectors. Of that number, it can be reliably estimated that at least half survive today, most in the PR 62 to PR 64 grade range, with a smaller amount of impaired pieces and gems at either side of the spectrum. This is a watery, fully reflective piece that shows only slight field-to-device contrast which is normal for proofs struck during the early 1900s. The surfaces are not overtly hairlined, but a few widely spaced blemishes preclude a higher rating. (NGC ID# 28GE, PCGS# 8847)
