Description

PR66 Ultra Cameo 1893 Two and a Half
Deeply Mirrored and Nicely Frosted

1893 $2 1/2 PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC. CAC. The mintage of quarter eagle business strikes in 1893, at 30,000 pieces, was the largest since the slump that began in 1880. Only 106 proofs were produced, however, typical for the era. The quarter eagle was the smallest gold denomination since the gold dollar had been discontinued in 1889, and proof examples were popular. This Premium Gem Ultra Cameo displays a pronounced orange-peel effect on the obverse, less so on the reverse. Orange-gold color dominates surfaces that are essentially flawless, deeply mirrored, and nicely frosted. Census: 6 in 66 Ultra Cameo, 4 finer (11/11).(Registry values: P2) (NGC ID# 288G, PCGS# 97919)

This is why I like purchasing from Heritage, you are so customer oriented and with your size and my meager purchases it always amazes me how quickly you respond.
