1900 $2 1/2 Genuine PCGS. Proof. The PCGS number ending in .94 suggests Altered Surfaces as the reason, or perhaps one of the reasons, that PCGS deemed this coin not gradable. In our opinion, this coin has the details of a proof specimen that has altered surfaces. Milky patina near the date may have raised the suspicions of PCGS. Well struck with honey-gold color and blatant cameo contrast. Faintly hairlined, and a pinscratch is noted above the A in STATES. The base of the 1 is repunched. Just 205 proofs were struck.(Registry values: P1, N1) (NGC ID# 288P, PCGS# 7926)
