1913 1C PR67 Red NGC....
Flawless Superb Gem Red Proof 1913 Cent1913 1C PR67 Red NGC. The large production of proof cents from this year, 2,983 pieces, was undoubtedly due to the interest and popularity of the Buffalo nickel. Both coins were sold in minor proof sets by the Mint. Since matte proofs were wrapped in tissue paper they rapidly turned from their original mint red. This is a magnificent, full Red example that has just a tinge of lime-green on the obverse. The surfaces are as close to flawless as we have seen on any matte proof in some time. Census: 5 in 67 Red, 0 finer (4/12).
