Description:

1882 Morgan Dollar, PR66+ Deep Cameo
Silver-on-Black Contrast
1882 $1 PR66+ Deep Cameo PCGS. Deep contrast of the silver devices against night-black, reflective fields is the chief attribute of this PR66+ Deep Cameo 1882 Morgan dollar, certified by PCGS. This is a great coin for collectors who prefer their proof Morgans with deep contrast but little evidence of other color. The Plus grade in our opinion is more than warranted, as this piece is definitely in the top echelon of PR66 survivors of this issue. In an interesting numerological twist, the proof mintage of 1,100 coins complements the 11 million coins issued for circulation of the 1882. Any Gem proof Morgan is rare, as we have pointed out before, but this piece's eye appeal far surpasses that level. A loupe is needed to see the scattered, tiny flecks of gold and gray color, but the fully struck surfaces are free of any mentionable contact. Population: 8 in 66 (2 in 66+) Deep Cameo, 1 finer (4/13).(Registry values: N4719) (PCGS# 97317)
