Description:
Attractive, High Grade Proof 1901 Dollar
1901 $1 PR64 PCGS. As mentioned in the write-up for the 1894 above, that date and the 1901 have the greatest date pressure exerted on them in the entire Morgan Dollar series (except, of course, for the 1895) because of the scarcity of high grade business strikes. This is a bright, deeply mirrored proof that has little to no contrast evident between the fields and devices. Just the slightest bit of light rose tinted patina is evident over each side.
From the Ira Rosen Collection. (NGC ID# 27ZZ, PCGS# 7336)

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
