Infrequently Offered 1852 Seated Dime in Choice Proof1852 10C PR64 NGC. This coin presents a uniformly reflective finish beneath light silver-gray patination. Whispers of olive-tan color are also seen over the central devices. There are numerous striations (as produced) in the fields, but we can find no singularly mentionable post-production distractions. A lintmark (also as struck) near the reverse border outside the F in OF and the first A in AMERICA should help establish the pedigree of this rare, early proof. According to Breen (1988), perhaps eight proof 1852 Dimes are extant, an estimate that current NGC and PCGS population data seems to support.
