1858 $1 PR63 PCGS....
Scarce Select Proof 1858 Silver Dollar1858 $1 PR63 PCGS. The frosty devices appear to merit a Cameo designation, but none is forthcoming since the piece is encapsulated in a first generation holder. This brilliant specimen is meticulously struck and provides flashy fields. Any hairlines present are nearly impossible to distinguish from the mint-made fine die polish lines. Proof coins were first made available for collector purchase in 1858. The proof mintage for that year is unknown, but is believed to be smaller than any subsequent date of the Seated dollar series. Population: 29 in 63, 10 finer (5/08).(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 252C, PCGS# 7001)
