1859 $1 PR60 NGC....
Toned 1859 Dollar, PR601859 $1 PR60 NGC. Splashes of gunmetal-blue and lavender toning concentrate at the margins of this PR60 dollar, leaving the central areas blushed with light golden-tan coloration. An exacting strike emboldens the design elements. Some faint hairlines are visible in the fields under magnification. Eight hundred dollars were struck in proof format in 1859, of which 350 are estimated by David Bowers (2006) to have been melted.(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 252D, PCGS# 7002)
