Description

1852 Seated Half Dime, PR63
Only 5-10 Examples Known

1852 H10C PR63 NGC. No records were kept for proof mintages before the Mint began its program of official proof set offerings in 1858, so the exact mintage of 1852 half dimes was not recorded. The number was certainly small as PCGS estimates only 5-10 examples are extant today. This coin is an attractive Select specimen, with pinpoint definition on all design elements and brightly reflective fields. The pleasing surfaces are blanketed in attractive shades of lavender, blue, and golden-brown toning. Only a few minor contact marks are present and overall visual appeal is quite strong. Census: 2 in 63, 3 finer (3/13).(Registry values: P3) (NGC ID# 235K, PCGS# 4429)

I received the catalog and was very impressed with its color illustrations, descriptions and attractive layout. (It has better production values than the New York houses.)
