Condition Census 1867 Seated Quarter1867 25C PR67 NGC. Ex: P. Kaufman. We have come to expect richly toned, nearly pristine Seated coinage from this consignor, and this 1867 Quarter certainly does not disappoint. Pinpoint striking definition and smooth, reflective surfaces are fully appreciable beneath an overlay of dominant antique-copper toning. There is a splash of lavender-gray color in the center of the reverse, as well as blue, gold, orange, and red undertones that brighten toward the lower right obverse and upper right reverse. Seldom offered in the finer Mint State grades, the 1867 (with a combined business strike and proof mintage of only 20,625 coins) is also a noteworthy condition rarity at the highest levels of proof preservation. Population: 3 in 67, just two are finer (11/02).
