Description:
1926-S Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS64+
Rare Issue in Higher Grades
1926-S $20 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The 1926-S was one of the great rarities in the Saint-Gaudens double eagle series before small numbers of the date surfaced in European holdings in the 1950s. The 1926-S is still quite rare in grades above MS64. This high-end Choice example displays vibrant mint luster, well-detailed devices, and attractive greenish-gold surfaces. Outstanding eye appeal. Population: 22 in 64+, 33 finer (1/12).(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 26GF, PCGS# 9185)

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens as Illustrated by the Morse and Duckor Collections
Revised Edition by James L. Halperin, Mark R. Borckardt, Mark Van Winkle, Jon Amato, and Gregory J. Rohan, with special contributor David W. Akers

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins. Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.
