Description

Superb Gem 1839 No Drapery Dime

1839 10C No Drapery MS67 NGC. Although NGC and PCGS have each certified a few pieces at an even higher numeric grade level, this is one of the finer 1839 dimes in existence. Except for slight weakness along a portion of the obverse border, the strike is full and crisp with every design element showing the boldness that was intended by the engraver. The surfaces are frosty with radiant luster shimmering through original gray and gold color with attractive iridescent accents. As a representative of a short-lived design type, this piece will appeal to the advanced type collector in addition to the date collector. Census: 14 in 67, 5 finer (4/07).(Registry values: N1) (NGC ID# 237X, PCGS# 4571)
