Description:
Elusive, High Grade 1871-CC Dime, XF45
1871-CC 10C XF45 PCGS. This is the first year that Dimes were produced at the Carson City Mint, and the 20,100 pieces delivered saw extensive circulation. Although modestly worn, this minimally abraded survivor is surprisingly free of major circulation marks. The design features are adequately defined, and both sides show even gunmetal-gray patina, with a few wisps of deeper gray peripheral patina. This is an important semi-key date, and there are few examples extant in any grade. Population: 3 in 45, 5 finer (3/05).
