Description:
Desirable Choice 1872-S Dime
1872-S 10C MS64 PCGS. Fortin-101. A sharply struck older holder near-Gem, only a few cereal grains on the upper left portion of the wreath are not exquisitely defined. Hints of lilac and gold color grace the unperturbed surfaces. A solitary diagonal roller mark, as made, crosses both Es in the denomination and serves as a pedigree marker. Fortin opines, "A difficult date to locate in all circulated grades.. It is rare in Mint State condition." It is likely that the present piece resides within the Condition Census for the issue. Population: 3 in 64, 2 finer (3/05).
