1840 S$1 MS62 NGC....
Scarce Uncirculated 1840 Seated Dollar1840 $1 MS62 NGC. Well detailed with mottled steel-gray and gunmetal toning that gives way to flashes of turquoise iridescence at the margins. Scattered abrasions are made less of a distraction by the toning. Unlike other first year issues and particularly unusual since a regular issue Silver Dollar had not been struck since 1803, the 1840 Seated Liberty Dollar was not saved in any significant quantities upon resumption of the denomination. In fact, Mint State survivors are of the utmost scarcity. Population: 12 in 62, 6 finer (12/04).
