Seldom Offered 1855 Seated Dollar1855 $1 AU50 PCGS. Like most other P-mint Seated Dollars from the mid to late 1850s, the 1855 is an issue that was not widely used in domestic circulation. Rather, the federal government probably shipped the majority of the 26,000 coins delivered to the Orient, where they were melted. This is a mostly silver-gray representative with mottled tan tinged rim accents. Both sides are a little scuffy, but no more so than one should expect for a circulated Seated Dollar.
