Select Uncirculated 1859 Silver Dollar1859 $1 MS63 PCGS. The obverse is moderately toned in a slightly mottled gray-golden hue and lacks much of the often-seen softness on Liberty's head, while a less oppressive orange-golden toning lightly coats the reverse. A few scattered abrasions serve to limit the grade. Of all the Seated Dollar issues, the 1859 with a mintage of over a quarter million pieces, probably has the lowest survival rate in all grades, from Good to Uncirculated. Scarce and underrated. Population: 8 in 63, 1 finer (12/98).
