Description

Premium Gem, Colorfully Toned 1837 Seated Half Dime 1837 H10C Large Date (Curl Top 1) MS66 NGC. V-1. This variety is distinguished by clear double punching of the date that shows near the denticles. Two separate half moon-like punchings appear below the 8, one of them low enough to cross one of the denticles. The lunule-like punching at the lower tip of the 7 is especially bold on this early die state. Typical for the issue, this coin displays needle sharp striking definition throughout. Also, the surfaces have been uncommonly well preserved with a colorful sheen and no abrasions of note. The obverse sports cobalt-blue, gold, and a spot of red over the date area, the reverse has a deep crimson center that is bordered with rich turquoise-blue patina. A bright, premium Gem for the high grade type collector.(#4311) (Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 232M, PCGS# 4311)

Today I received the catalog which is a work of art unto itself. When I found my lot I was literally blown away by what Craig had done with the presentation....... quite amazing to say the least!
