Gem Uncirculated 1837 No Stars Half Dime1837 H10C Small Date (Flat Top 1) MS65 PCGS. A thin coating of silver-gray patina assures the originality of this satiny and well struck Gem. Die breaks above Liberty's knee and near her elbow confirm a later die state. A well preserved example of this short-lived transitional type. Stars were added to the obverse of the Half Dime in 1838, although the New Orleans Mint struck a scarce No Stars issue in that year. Population: 5 in 65, 8 finer (7/05).(#4312) (Registry values: P6) (NGC ID# 232M, PCGS# 4312)
