Select Uncirculated 1852-O Half Dime1852-O H10C MS63 NGC. The year 1852 offers considerable challenges to the O-mint Seated collector. The '52-O half dime, dime, quarter, and half dollar are all low mintage issues that were heavily melted as a result of escalating silver prices. Writing in 1992, Al Blythe The Complete Guide to Liberty Seated Half Dimes assigns the 1852-O half dime an R.6 ranking in Mint State. A sharp example for the grade, the surfaces are smooth and essentially distraction-free beneath mottled olive, rose, and blue-gray patina. This is a well struck, subtly lustrous example that would fit into any advanced Half Dime collection.(Registry values: N1793) (NGC ID# 233L, PCGS# 4350)
