Al Blythe (1992) writes that the reported mintage of 48,000 business strikes is "highly suspect." In any event, fewer than 100 survivors are estimated to exist in all grades. Hints of light peripheral tan color adhere to the highly lustrous, well preserved surfaces of this Superb Gem. Well struck except for weakness in the upper left wreath.
