Superb 1879 Half Dollar, MS67
1879 50C MS67 NGC. The 1879 half dollar is the first in a series of low-mintage issues that extends to the end of the Liberty Seated half dollar type. With the exception of the final year, every issue during this period was from a mintage ranging between 4,400 and 12,000 circulation strikes, each year with a small additional quantity of Proof coins. This Superb example has extremely sharp obverse and reverse details with fully brilliant and untoned satiny surfaces.
