Description

Scarce 1864 Choice Uncirculated Quarter

1864 MS 64 PCGS. As with all silver and gold coins struck during the Civil War, the 1864 quarter is very difficult to locate as a business strike. This piece shows the diagnostic die chip on the thigh of Liberty. The surfaces are essentially brilliant throughout with only the faintest hint of toning. All of the design elements show remarkably strong detailing. Population: 9 in 64, 7 finer (5/95). (NGC ID# 23TY, PCGS# 5459)
