Important 1870-CC Quarter, AG Details1870-CC 25C --Damaged, Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AG Details. Between its importance as the first quarter struck at the Carson City Mint and the low survival rate out of a mintage of just 8,340 pieces, the 1870-CC has emerged as one of the most desired coins in the Seated quarter series. This example, though extensively worn with numerous hairlines across the pale silver-gray and deeper slate-gray surfaces, offers interesting eye appeal. A handful of digs are noted in the well-worn fields and the stars at the upper left obverse have worn away, yet the word LIBERTY is largely clear, with all but the first letter visible and the BERT plain.(Registry values: P9) (NGC ID# 23UL, PCGS# 5477)
