1872 25C MS61 NGC. Lightly toned with blushes of milky lemon-gold on the obverse and speckles of charcoal-gray patina on the reverse. The reverse has been struck from a clashed die, and has a prominent raised die line (as struck) that begins at the eagle's neck. A good strike with a few flat stars but sharp central details. The mint luster is stronger in the peripheries than in the fields. The obverse field has numerous but light slide marks that account for the grade. Population: 2 in 61, 13 finer (9/01). (NGC ID# 23UR, PCGS# 5481)
