1875-CC 25C MS64 PCGS....
Elusive 1875-CC MS64 Quarter1875-CC 25C MS64 PCGS. 1875-CC quarters are much more elusive than their 140,000 piece mintage would suggest. Rusty Goe, in The Mint on Carson Street, estimates that 300 to 500 examples are extant in all grades, of which 45 to 70 are in Uncirculated condition. PCGS and NGC have certified slightly more than 30 Mint State specimens.
This satiny surfaces of this near-Gem representative display light silver-gray color and pleasing luster. A well executed strike leaves strong definition on the design features, except for the usual softness in portions of Liberty's hair and on the centrils of stars at the right border. Just a few minor ticks prevent Gem status. Population: 6 in 64, 2 finer (11/08).
