Description:

Gem 1875-CC Seated Quarter
None Finer at PCGS
1875-CC 25C MS65 PCGS. CAC. The 1875-CC Seated Liberty quarter boasts a fairly low mintage of 140,000 pieces, and Uncirculated examples are considered high R.5 by Larry Briggs. This is only the fourth time Heritage has been privileged to handle a specimen in MS65 since we began our auction archives about two decades ago. Collectors prize the issue because of its rarity and the charismatic mintmark. The fabulous Gem offered by American Numismatic Rarities in 2005 realized $32,200.
The present coin is an attractive Gem, with spectacular gold and cerulean-blue toning. Vibrant luster shows beneath the patina, and the devices are well detailed. Population: 3 in 65, 0 finer (4/11).(Registry values: P4) (NGC ID# 23UY, PCGS# 5499)

Needless to say I was overwhelmed by the results of the auction and I truly believe it was Jill’s efforts in promoting and displaying the piece that brought in the extra value.
