Description

1918/7-S Quarter, AU58
Bright Overall With a Strong Underdigit

1918/7-S 25C AU58 PCGS Secure. CAC. FS-101. It is the rare long-lasting series that does not have a major variety entry in the Guide Book. While the Barber quarter has no such listings in its 25-year history, the significantly shorter-lived Standing Liberty quarter series contains one of the major overdates of the 20th century, the 1918/7-S, which is priced under the 1916 key date in grades through XF, but becomes the most expensive coin in the series in AU and better. In near-Mint condition, this is an important and highly collectible example of this key issue. Both sides are essentially brilliant with significant remaining mint luster. The underdigit is strong and the only abrasion of any note is an angling field mark between the R in QUARTER and the middle star on the reverse.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# 243A, PCGS# 5726)
