Description

C. Bechtler Gold Dollar, N Reversed
K-4 28 Grains Variety, MS61

(1837-42) G$1 C. Bechtler Dollar, N Reversed MS61 PCGS. K-4, R.4. For all of the Bechtler family's accomplishments in bringing private gold coinage to the southeast United States, it did not save the diemaker from getting the N in ONE backwards on the K-4 28-grain dollar. This semireflective example has a touch of green-gold to the color and considerable patination. Wispy abrasions through much of the fields account for the grade. Listed on page 373 of the 2013 Guide Book. (PCGS# 10055)
