Description:
AU Details A. Bechtler Five Dollar
134 G, 21 Carats, K-27
(1842-52) $5 A. Bechtler Five Dollar, 134G. 21C.--Repaired, Improperly Cleaned--NCS. AU Details. K-27, Low R.5. The NCS insert incorrectly refers to the piece as a C. Bechtler variety. The pale gold surfaces show substantial luster, particularly within CAROLINA GOLD. Nonetheless subdued slightly by a cleaning, and a mostly retained lamination affects 134 G. Subtle repairs are noted on the rim near the RO in CAROLINA and to the right of 21. Listed on page 359 of the 2009 Guide Book.
