Description:
XF A. Bechtler Five Dollar, Kagin-27
(1842-52) $5 A. Bechtler Five Dollar, 134G. 21C. XF40 PCGS. K-27, Low R.5. A khaki-gold Bechtler piece with subdued clean surfaces. A small triangular edge flaw at 4 o'clock appears to be as made. From early state dies, since there is no die crack through BECHTLER. The bold line through the IN in CAROLINA is a die scratch, and not a die break, as recorded in the Kagin reference. Encapsulated in a green label holder. Listed on page 346 of the 2007 Guide Book.
