A reeded edge slug of lower fineness, 880 fine per the inscription on the actual coin. Rich orange-gold color with a hint of green. The surfaces are moderately abraded with a few larger dings here and there. Some of the corners reveal small rim or edge bruises. These large gold slugs, representing tangible evidence of the California Gold Rush over 150 years ago, are highly popular and collectible today. Listed on page 349 of the 2006 Guide Book.
