Scarce XF 1852 Humbert Ten Dollars1852 $10 Humbert Ten Dollar XF40 PCGS. K-10, R.5. Reverse Die State A, with heavy die cracks along the base of UNITED and other portions of the legend. The consignor believes this to be Kagin-10a, unphotographed in the 1981 Don Kagin reference and described as IINITED instead of UNITED in the obverse (eagle side) legend. The heavy die crack through the base of UNITED does make it appear that the U is composed of two I punches, one more slim than the other. This orange-gold example has clear legends and some breast definition on the eagle. A pinscratch beneath UNITED on the reverse (legend side) provides the only mentionable mark.
