Description

Desirable Very Fine 1852 Moffat & Company Ten, Kagin-9 (Wide Date) Variety

1852 $10 Moffat & Co. Ten Dollar VF20 PCGS. K-9, R.6. The wide spacing between the digits in the date is the diagnostic feature of this die variety. A premium quality coin for the grade, the surfaces are evenly worn and both sides are pleasingly colored in olive-gold hues. Although not abrasion-free, the surfaces are relatively smooth, and there is plenty of remaining definition over Liberty's portrait and the reverse eagle. An important biding opportunity for the sharp-eyed Territorial gold collector. Listed on page 290 of the 2002 Guide Book.
