Description

Pleasing AU 1855 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollars

1855 $20 Kellogg & Co. Twenty Dollar AU50 PCGS. K-3, R.4. The 'Long Arrows' variety, the lowest arrow just touches the scroll. Orange-tinged luster in recessed areas complements the greenish-gold color on the fields and portrait. The left side stars are flat, but otherwise crisply struck. The left obverse field has a few inconspicuous pinscratches. The well made Kellogg & Co. pieces bore a considerable resemblance to the Federal Double Eagles of the day. Listed on page 306 of the 2005 Guide Book. Population: 10 in 50, 20 finer (6/05).
