Description:
Noteworthy 1860 Clark Gruber Half Eagle, MS62 NGC
1860 $5 Clark, Gruber & Co. Five Dollar MS62 NGC. K-2, R.4. A noteworthy survivor of this conditionally challenging issue. The centers have moderate weakness of strike, while the borders are sharp. Tan-gold toning dominates the central fields but yields to yellow-gold brilliance about the peripheries. Without relevant abrasions, although the obverse shows a couple of spindly, mint-made die cracks. Listed on page 290 of the current Guide Book. (#10136) (PCGS# 10136)
