Description:
Pleasing XF C. Bechtler Five Dollar
(1837-1842) C. Bechtler Half Eagle, 128 G. With Star XF 40 PCGS. Kagin-23, Breen-7760. GEORGIA GOLD; colon after C (BECHTLER). RUTHERF. in legend. Struck from a coin die alignment. Even green-gold color with some flashes of coppery-orange in the protected areas. There is an old dig over the first G in GEORGIA and another above the right side of the S in CARATS, but the overall quality of the surfaces is exceptional. A great type coin due to its originality and eye appeal. Listed on page 274 of the 1999 Guide Book.
From the Chestatee Collection. (PCGS# 10109)
