Description:
Well Preserved 1860 Clark, Gruber Quarter Eagle
1860 Clark, Gruber & Co. Quarter Eagle AU 55 PCGS. K-1, R.4. First year of issue from this highly respected Colorado private mint. The Clark, Gruber coins of 1860 were struck from unalloyed native gold. The striking details are invariably weakly defined in the center of each side on quarter eagles and half eagles from this year. The surfaces retain much of the original mint luster, and the only noticeable flaw is a scratch that extends from stars 4 to 7. A lovely example of this scarce and popular territorial gold coin. Listed on page 283 of the 1995 Guide Book. (PCGS# 10135)
