Very Rare MS66 1885 Three Cent Nickel1885 3CN MS66 PCGS. The 1885 three cent nickel is a rare coin in the absolute sense with only 4,290 pieces struck, of which all but 1,000 coins were proofs. This is a sharply struck example and one of the finest business strikes known. In fact, only seven other MS66 pieces have been certified by PCGS (and six by NGC) with two finer (both PCGS coins). The surfaces are nicely frosted with gray-rose patina and strong striking definition throughout. The only mark of note is a shallow planchet flake out of Liberty's hair above the eye.(#3753) (Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 275G, PCGS# 3753)
